We’ve finally got our first e-book up on Amazon!
Ordinary Domestic: Collected Short Stories by Carol McKay brings together a varied collection of work some of which has been previously published in pre-eminent UK literary magazines such as Gutter, Chapman and Mslexia. This collection of stories on the theme of ordinary domestic life, has a remarkable breadth of style in its writing. Be prepared for gritty urban realism along with domestic appliances, and the poignancy of looking back to your island home from early 20th century urban Glasgow. On Carol’s author page we have published Our Family Tradition from the Collection, an unusal piece of flash fiction inter-twining a recipe for Scottish tablet with a family story. And by the way the recipe works – we’ve tasted it!
In 2010, Carol was awarded a Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship by Creative Scotland which allowed her to spend a month at the historic Hôtel Chevillon artists’ retreat in Grez-sur-Loing south of Paris, France to concentrate on her writing. We’re looking forward to publishing the fruits of this stay in the future.
